This summer, Juxtapoz will be releasing another new book in our ongoing series with Gingko PressJuxtapoz Black and White spotlights 28 contemporary artists from David Shrigley to Shantell MartinGeoff McFetridge to Katy Ann Gilmore, who strip their work down to basic, often breathtaking black and white. For the next few months, we will be highlighting artists featured in the book. Last week, we showed you the works NY-based sculpture, street and performative artist, Aakash Nihalani. Today, we look at the playful illustrations from French duo, Mrzyk & Moriceau, who have taken their black and white works across multiple platforms: drawing, animation, music videos, books and prints.

When we asked M&M about their use of black and white, they told us, "Black-and-white work is more universal. Jacques Tati used to say, 'Trop de couleurs perturbe le spectateur,' which means, 'Too many colors disturb the audience'.”
