The History of the Dodo is "a narrative about evolution & extinction, and how we are all gonna die."

THE NEW YORK ART BOOK FAIR @ MoMA PS1

Always one of our favorite events in NYC, Juxtapoz checked out the New York Art Book Fair last weekend at the Moma PS1 Museum. The event presented 283 international presses, booksellers, antiquarians, artists, and independent publishers from 26 countries, and is put on by the fantastic Printed Matter of NYC. (Check out Printed Matter's curation of subversive art books in our new November 2012 issue).

Illustrated Works by Zoran Pungercar

We featured Zoran Pungercar's work a little while ago in 2011, and now we're back featuring more. Here are some of Pungercar's more recent illustrated works for zines and show posters. His folk art aesthetic and attentive yet imperfect renderings simplify characters into compelling narrative icons that shudder with dark undertones and mysterious and pseudo-mythical imagery, and he does show posters for some great musicians like Tune-Yards to boot.

MegaBodega @ Family Business

An event series and zine mart entitled “Megabodega” begins tonight at Family Business in New York.  Organized by local artist, Victoria Yee Howe, this two-week long series will host a variety of book launches, readings, and parties, as well as offer art books, magazines, and zines for sale from around the globe.
