Alex Pardee is curating our October 2012 Halloween issue. Dave Correia is an artist you are going to see interviewed in said issue. Dave has a show opening tonight, August 2, at FIFTY24PDX in Portland. Alex tells us, "Contrary to what might hunt you down in your nightmares after seeing some of his work, Zerofriends' own Dave Correia isn't a scary dude. Fortunately for our eyeballs, however, his new collection of paintings is still frighteningly beautiful." Preview after the jump . . .

Alex Pardee's Zerofriends presents QUAKE: 26 Years of Hustlin', a giant retrospective of the street artist Quake's "continuous, uncompromising, vibrant pubic art by one of the Bay Area's most prolific and loyal artists," this Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Zerofriends in Oakland. The solo exhibition, on view through June 30, will include hundreds of photos taken around the world of Quake's outdoor work, alongside sketches, relics, prints, and a massive ongoing slide show, celebrating "the insanely colorful career of not only one of our favorites," Zerofriends said, "but one of our own."

As created by Alex Pardee and Zerofriends, “Moments before Tupac Shakur’s death, he called upon an ancient Voodoo spell to transfer his soul into a cat. For 15 years following his death, this cat was trapped in the pound. Now he has finally been released and is back in the hood.” Video after the jump.

We feel as if you don't know the reference to Tiger Blood in this giving week, there is a bit of "pop" research you need to do. But Alex Pardee has the CliffNotes for you here, because who hasn't wanted to tell 300 million people that you have tiger blood? We told 3 people this morning, and it felt great. We will be publishing an exclusive interview with Alex Pardee on the occasion of his major solo show, Vertigo, at Corey Helford Gallery in the coming days, but we wanted to also show a few images that Alex sent us this past weekend. As Alex says, "I'm going a little crazy but the craziness is overshadowed by excitement for a number of reasons. This show marks my first time showing acrylic painting." A few images after the jump . . .

We just met Robert Bowen recently at the Zerofriends Collective pop-up shop in San Francisco, and really found the work to be quite striking and well executed. Our resident blogger Jeben Berg wanted to do a feature, and as Robert is a profile in the magazine this month, we just posted the interview that Jeben did. More after the jump . . .
