We have been admirers of Wes Lang at Juxtapoz for a long time, especially his fantastic contributions to the Grateful Dead over the past year. Now, the tattoo and fine artist has contributed some flash designs fro Sleepy Jones and a new Jasper Boxer short look. Imagine the surprise from a significant other if this is what you are showing off on a first date... you will be a winner, trust us. 

Juxtapoz favorite Wes Lang recently put out this gnarly print in conjunction with his artwork for the Grateful Dead Spring 1990 box set, though it's safe to say this piece is so good that Deadheads and GD detractors alike can enjoy.

One of our favorite NYC-based artists, Wes Lang, is set to open a new solo show, Here Comes Sunshine, at the Lower East Side's Half Gallery this May 17, 2012. We follow Lang's blog closely, and he is good about updating it with oldies and newbies, and we recommend spending some time looking at his Americana meets tattoo meets stream of consciousness. And it is always good.

We wish the print was this baby drawing, alas, Wes Lang has released two screenprints with V1 Gallery in conjunction with his solo show at the Copenhagen space, Life and How to Live It. The prints were handmade in Denmark on chalk coated paper. Looks after the jump . . .

During a one-month residency at Hollywood's infamous Chateau Marmont hotel, Brooklyn-based artist Wes Lang created intricate drawings on the hotel stationary. Photos and more after the jump . . .

We were wandering around Wes Lang's site this morning, and saw that he has been living at the famed Chateau Marmont for the past month or some, building a body of drawings, all culminating in a one-night show, Sittin' on a Rainbow, at the Hotel this Thursday, June 23rd.

Wes Lang is an amazing Brooklyn based illustrator who makes me want to sit down and draw more.

A good way to start the year is by the group show method, as is the case with a great line-up at Guerrero Gallery for Nothing To Say. The show will feature works by Caleb Neelon, Alex Lukas, Wes Lang, Kelsey Brookes, Mike Davis, Matt Leines, Mark Mulroney, Alekis Mackenzie, Jim Houser, Larry Mullins, Brett Cook, and a lot more, almost too many to name here.
