The Nylon Sculptures of Rosa Verloop

Juxtapoz // Monday, July 09, 2012
An interesting use of a stocking. Dutch artist Rosa Verloop has created these fantastic nylon sculptures, where she has taken common stockings and molded. folded, squeezed, and created interesting, layered facial structures. She uses regular pins to keep the stockings in the shape of a facial structure.

Recreating Famous Photographs via Star Wars

Juxtapoz // Thursday, July 05, 2012
Perhaps because this author spent most of his Fourth of July holiday in a county that is shared with Lucas' Skywalker Ranch, but when we saw these fantastic famous photographs recreated with Star Wars characters, we felt a bit if kinship. Of course, I would expect to see two Stormtroopers kiss after the end of a great galactic war.

A Series of Anatomical Tattoos

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, July 03, 2012
Anatomical tattoos are a way to literally wear your heart on your sleeve. Whether you are showing some muscle on top of your flesh or letting your brains hang out, getting these type of tattoos are a sure way to get some "oohs & ahhs" amongst your friends. In addition, why not feel as if your helping to educate the public by giving them an anatomy lesson?

Blade Runner as Watercolors, Part 1

Juxtapoz // Monday, July 02, 2012
Apparently, this is Part 1, and there will be more. Somebody who really, really loves Blade Runner (one thing we have learned while at Juxtapoz; people love Super Mario, Legos, Star Wars, and Ridley Scott, but you knew that) created the opening 12 minutes of the film using over 3285 aquarelle paintings. Harrison Ford's acting is better in watercolor form.

The Darth Vader Hot Air Balloon

Juxtapoz // Monday, July 02, 2012
Everyone has dreams, and we are pretty sure that the Star Wars cookbook was the pinnacle... until this: the Darth Vader Hot Air Balloon. According to Hi Consumption, "Steve Sansweet from Lucasfilm, these die hard Star Wars fans dream became a reality with this incredible Darth Vader Hot Air Balloon."

The SKULL EGG AND PANCAKE MOLDER

Juxtapoz // Friday, June 15, 2012
We really wanted to wait until Halloween on this one, but we just couldn't resist. Sure, you can eat your pancakes and eggs in their "normal" circular form, but why not treat the kids to an egg in a pirate's skull and crossbones style? How cool is this? Even if you don't like skulls, you have to appreciate this one...

Everyday Fingerprints by Kevin Van Aelst

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, June 13, 2012
Who knew mustard could be such an identifier. Kevin Van Aelst, who has been on the site before for his transforming and reimagining everyday objects into something new entirely, just finished a series where he created fingerprints with everyday objects, including mustard, yarn, cassette tapes, and the topper, cat s#$t.

An Ear Ring and Other Mini Body Part Jewelry

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, June 12, 2012
Ah, this is so weird and uncomfortable we are going to order one of each. So good are these custom order mini-body part jewelry pieces by UK Etsy seller percylau that you almost have to convince your father that he should have an ear ring for Father's Day. Or perhaps your girlfriend/boyfriend needs a mini, um, phallus ring? How about an ear earring?

Adult Swim x Juxtapoz: Kevin Kirkpatrick's Bust of Carl from Aqua Teen

Juxtapoz // Monday, June 11, 2012
One of the best parts about teaming up with Adult Swim on our very special July 2012 issue are the collaborations that came out of the months of work. One of our favorites was Kevin Kirkpatrick's amazing bust of Carl Brutananadilewski from Aqua Teen Hunger Force (aka, Aqua Something You Know Whatever). Remember, Kevin did the amazing Beavis and Butthead busts that were all over the web earlier this year...

Chris Sumer's "Bottle Cap Blues"

Juxtapoz // Monday, June 11, 2012
Albeit not all the beers in this video are opened in a drinkable form, it does get your imagination going. It may be more convenient to have a bottle opener on your keychain, but exploring your immediate surroundings to find ways and excuses for opening a beer sounds like a great way to spend some time, especially if you're just recently free for summer break and want unwind while still exercising your creative muscles.
