Swoon for TEDxBrooklyn Talks

Street Art // Saturday, January 22, 2011
One of the great street, fine, and philanthropic artisits active today, Callie Curry, aka Swoon, has become synonymous with creating art on her own terms. This TEDxBrooklyn talk is very interesting and enlightening, in that Callie really reflects on the positive energy and impact afforded to her under the project and moniker she calls Swoon. This is really a great talk and we highly recommend spending some time watching it in full.

The Music Videos of Isaac Niemand

Music // Friday, January 21, 2011
Here is a good Friday midday break for you. We were checking at ROJO Magazine's site, and saw a video from Berlin-based visual artist and director Isaac Niemand, and saw great work on his Vimeo page. Two really strong, simple, well-realized videos that caught our attention were NOIA's "Fire Maze" and Duo505's "Walzer Oder Nicht." Watch after the jump . . .

Watch after the jump . . .

Cache Rules Everything Around Me by Evan Roth

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, January 18, 2011
Well, we aren't sure what the Wu-Tang Clan thinks of clearning your cache, but knowing that the RZA is a bright guy, he would appreciate "Cache Rules Everything Around Me." Evan Roth is impressive if the only thing we knew about him was his .gif collection. Video after the jump . . .

Video—Art Installation that Looks like Burning Building is Not Actually Burning

Juxtapoz // Sunday, January 16, 2011
Maybe we are insensitive to real burning buildings, but this installation from Montreal-based artist Isabelle Hayeur is very interesting and one of the better pieces of art we have seen this weekend. This could lead to a boy cries wolf scenario, but you should watch the video after the jump to see how it works...

Juxtapoz // Sunday, January 16, 2011
Husband and wife, and French artists Supakitch and Koralie just painted at VÄRLDSKULTUR MUSEET GÖTEBORG in Sweden, and Elroy shot a really well-made video of the process. We have followed Koralie for a long time, had her featured in the magazine, and it's really nice to see her in progress, working on her signature characters. Video after the jump . ..

Video—The Making of the TRON Skateboard Ramp in Melbourne

Juxtapoz // Saturday, January 15, 2011
This is pretty cool. Because the promotional budget at Disney for Tron Legacy was out of this world, they were able to have this skateboard ramp installation by ENESS at their Melbourne, Australia premiere. Video and what this actually means after the jump . . .

Super Mario in a Disturbing Yet Artful Video

Juxtapoz // Friday, January 14, 2011
This video, which has nothing to do with the 8-bit Mario imagery, is like some twisted Chris Cunningham meets Shakespeare meets Bizarro Land starring Super Mario himself. This is disturbing, but kind of interesting and weird as well. Video after the jump . . .
