There was a lot of secrecy involved in the preparation of MOCA's "Art In the Streets" exhibition. We are quite sure if you were an artist in th show, your mother couldn't come see what you were doing until the press preview. That said, it also provided an opportunity for those setting up the entire show and documenting it to have a bit of fun, and MOCA created a film using the Geffen's security cameras. Spike Jonze captures Lil Buck and Yo-Yo Ma in Collaboration

It's not evertday that you wake up to find a video titled Spike Jonze Presents: Lil Buck and Yo-Yo Ma. Jonze posted this on the Opening Ceremony blog, and wrote, "Someone who knows Yo-Yo Ma had seen Lil Buck on YouTube and put them together. The dancing is Lil Buck's own creation and unlike anything I've seen." Enjoy after the jump . . .

These are magnificent. Tony Orrico is an artist and dancer who has been called the human spirograph, performing for up to 4 hours continuously. RETNA and SANER and NUNCA and How & Nosm for The Boneyard Project

We just got this email from our friend and Mexico City based artist, Saner, who along with Retna and Nunca and How & Nosm, will be part of The Boneyard Project coming in the Summer of 2011. As the trailer states, "The Boneyard Project is not simply a unique opportunity to give major contemporary artists an amazing canvas of being able to make art out of a plane, it is a chance for us all to examine our own cultural relationship to airplanes and to the archetypal ideal of traveling through the skies." TV On the Radio "NIne Types of Light" in Full

The other day, we told you about TV On the Radio just releaeed their newest LP, Nine Types of Light, where they have filmed a music video for each 10 tracks, and will be stitching those videos together to make a full-feature film. Levi's Film Workshop at MOCA's Art In the Streets

We have spent the past five days at MOCA watching the final touches being put on the seminal Art In the Streets exhibit, and part of our time we have been watching Levi's put together their newest Levi’s® Workshops, the Film Workshop. For the entirety of the the Streets exhibit, Levi's will allow museum goers and the general public a chance to make their own films, from Super 8 to 3D, home movies to avant garde, amateur to professional. TV On the Radio are set to release their newest LP, Nine Types of Light, where they have filmed a music video for each 10 tracks, and will be stitching those videos together to make a full-feature film. As Tunde Adebimpe, one of the band’s vocalists, said in an interview, “For less than the price of a Maroon 5 video, you can make a full-length feature.” Watch one of their videos after the jump . . .
