Yesterday, we showed you a collection of oil paintings by Australian painter Michael Peck, and last night, Metro Gallery (who hosted Peck's last solo show, The Landing, this past Nov-Dec 2011) sent us images of Peck's opening as well as a fantastic documentary, Within the Layers, that documents Peck's latest body of work.

Illustrator Charis Tsevis created a group of 6 portraits for the book Gadgets, Games, Robots and the Digital World, where the artist created 6 mosaic portraits of 6 IT giants: Grace Hopper, Cynthia Breazeal, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Sir Clive Sinclair and Tomohiro Nishikado. Each portrait is illustrated with the respective icons their inventions are known for.

A lot of us on the Juxtapoz staff were excited about The Dark Knight Rises trailer, but now the talk of the office is whether Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is going to make the grade. People get very emotional and defensive with the J.R.R. Tolkien titles, but its not like Jackson takes the task lightly.

HERBERT BAGLIONE FOR NUART 11 Video

When we were at Nuart this past Fall, Herbert Baglione's installation room was one of the highlights, as the Sao Paulo-based artist had paid tribute to the 69 victims of the Norway UTØYA ) massacre that occured in the country earlier in 2011. The work, when completed, was a moving tribute and stunning piece.

To celebrate the Montana Shop & Gallery Lisboa’s 2nd anniversary, Aryz was invited to do an exhibition in the gallery with his process drawings. With no art being offered for sale at the exhibition, it was decided to create the following screen print in this video in an edition of 50.
