Wes Anderson // Centered

Design // Wednesday, March 19, 2014
Two-thirds of our office has seen "The Grand Budapest Hotel," and we all agree it was one of Wes Anderson's strongest stories to date, right up there with "The Royal Tenenbaums" in terms of originality and overall filmmaking. (We like every film, "Darjeeling Limited" has a special place in our hearts as well). Somebody very clever, kogonada, who also created the awesome Kubrick "One-shot perspective" cut, has taken all the Wes Anderson films and shown the filmmakers knack for being "Centered."

This is a film we have been looking forward to all year, and with the extra addition of Bradford Cox's musical score (the man behind Deerhunter and Atlas Sound), we are even more intrigued. Turkey-based illustrator Murat Palta has created a good game for you (although we have ruined it by giving you captions). Watch: Plastic Infinite by Sculpture

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, February 04, 2014
Sculpture, the UK based duo of Dan Hayhurst and Reuben Sutherland, comes Plastic Infinite. While played under a strobe light or filmed at 25fps, the 7" picture disc comes to life as the animated images circle round the turntable. Created like a zoetrope, the video showcases the imagery in action juxtaposed with eccentric intermittent jungle-like sounds.

Juxtapoz Presents: Silas Hite - Music and Art

Music // Wednesday, January 22, 2014
"When the music in me slows down, I pick up a pen and draw. When the ink begins to flow less easily, I trade the pen for an instrument and resume where I left off with a renewed sense of purpose. It’s a symbiotic relationship between art and music. I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to tap into it and spend my days creating."
