In conjunction with V1 Gallery's 10 year anniversary show, Tonight We Won't Be Bored, the Copenhagen-based gallery just released a series of editions that include Todd James, Richard Colman, Anika Lori, Andrè Saraiva (Mr A), Geoff McFetridge, and HuskMItNavn (Remember My Name). To us, V1 has one of the best programs of any of the galleries we cover, and we want to say congrats on 10 years of showing great artists, and here's to 10 more!

As part of Todd James' newest exhibition at V1 Gallery in Copenhagen, Free To Be You & Me, James recreated his now famed creation from MOCA's Art In the Streets and Street Market, the Vandal's Bedroom. Today, we take a closer look at the installation.

No question, there aren't many artists that pique our interest quite like Todd "REAS" James. For the past few years, his technicolor portraits of cartoon modern day pirates and contraband, with no expression and done in a flat, abstract style, are a nice counter-balance to the millions of images we see on news networks depicting contemporary warfare. James just opened Free To Be You & Me at V1 Gallery in Copenhagen...

V1 Gallery is proud to present Free To Be You & Me a solo exhibition by Todd James. The exhibition opens tonight, October 5 at the gallery's Copenhagen space. Luminous colored Somali pirates, smoking cigarettes as the sun sets, drinking tea, making hostage demands on satellite phones, brandishing AK 47’s and rocket propelled grenades populate Todd James new body of work.

This past weekend, we checked out the book/10" collaborative project between artist Ashley Macomber and musician/actor/artist Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Afternoon, and found a lot of the paintings by Macomber included in the book/10" to fantastic. The artist is part of a new show, Wild Thing, opening at See Line Gallery in West Hollywood on September 19. See the show, get the book.

As we noted on the site the other day, this is our kind of showcase. Former Juxtapoz covers, Thomas Campbell (April 2007), Evan Hecox (August 2012), and Ed Templeton (featured throughout the years, most recently, February 2012), just opened 3 shows simultaneously at V1 Gallery in Copenhagen. Photographer Henrik Haven went to check it out for us...

This is our kind of showcase. Former Juxtapoz covers, Thomas Campbell (April 2007), Evan Hecox (August 2012), and Ed Templeton (featured throughout the years, most recently, February 2012), will all be showing at the same time at V1 Gallery in Copenhagen, starting on Friday, August 31. And for clarity sake, all 3 artists are having solo shows. This is 3 for the price of 1.

Loving this photo of Ari Marcopoulos' that is one his show flyer for Here And Now at V1 Gallery in Copenhagen, Denmark. And just as Ari wanted, this new exhibition features works only from the, wait for it, here and now. As V1 writes of the famed photographer, "In Here and Now he (Ari) wanted to just show his work from 2012, and most of the prints, as can be seen from the date stamp in the lower-right hand corners, are from March this year."

Last week, March 2012 cover artist Andrew Schoultz and former Juxtapoz featured artist and Detroit project artist, Richard Colman, opened the exhibition, To Be Announced at Copenhagen's V1 Gallery. As we see in the photos, both Colman and Schoultz created site-specific murals and installations to accompany their bodies of work.

On March 23, 2012, March 2012 cover artist Andrew Schoultz and former Juxtapoz featured artist and Detroit project artist, Richard Colman, will be opening the exhibition, To Be Announced at Copenhagen's V1 Gallery. We haven't seen any previews yet, but past exhibitions over the past year by both San Francisco-based artists will definitely make this one a show to see.
