Saturday, June 13th marks the first day that all-female art collective Few & Far will start work on a large scale mural in the heart of Oakland. The building, which buys non-recyclable plastics and then resells them to specialized buyers, is one of the largest recycling facilities in the Bay Area. This mural will focus on representing Oakland’s diverse culture and its long-time residents.

Ursula Xanthe Young, graduate of Parsons School of Design, is a San Francisco favorite. Illustrator, painter, designer, Young has become known beloved for her tender flowery urban fairytale illustrations. You can find her beautiful work right now at the amazingly friendly Luna Rienne Gallery in the Mission and as a permanent installation at the gorgeous Grand Hyatt in Union Square.
