"Chicken or Beef?" @ The Hole, NYC

One of our favorites curators of the moment, Jesper Elg of V1 Gallery in Copenhagen, just opened a curated show at The Hole in NYC called Chicken or Beef?. The show itself is loaded with great talent from both America and Europe, curated as a "Transatlantic survey of figurative painting in Europe and America, named after the ubiquitous question posed on transatlantic flights."

Danish artist Troels Carlsen is inspired by the human condition and his work often revolves around our historical and biological heritage. Through a wide range of media, collage and illustration, he explores our relation to the animal world with, often times through scientific anatomical illustrations. His multi-level pieces combine elements of landscape, science and portraiture, and are arranged an a near poetic way.
