For the past month, we have been asking artists and friends to recount their favorite Beastie Boys' memories in conjunction with our special June 2013 issue. This past weekend we stopped by one of our favorite galleries, THIS Los Angeles to check out their second to last exhibition, “No Pressure” new works by Travis Millard. Travis is the CEO and grand marshall of Fudge Factory Comics and runs it out of his home on an almost lost hillside in the Echo Park neighborhood of LA. Photos and more after the jump…

The show is curated and organized by Sam James Velde, Rich Jacobs and Adam Rossiter and features zines and prints spanning music, skateboarding and art culture from the 1980's til present. December 7th 2012 marks the opening of What Are You Doing To Participate group zine/art show In Los Angeles. Two things to be excited about: one, Dinosaur Jr. is coming out with a new album, I Bet On Sky, this September 18, and our friend, Travis Millard, did the album cover artwork. When we saw the artwork last week, we said to ourselves, that looks familiar. After exhaustive research, our suspicions were confirmed.

Opening this Friday evening, May 18th, between 6 and 10 pm is Travis Millard and Michael Krueger's two person show titled Digging a Hole, Looking for Something. The show will feature new drawings, prints, ceramics as well as exclusive t-shirts and zines from both of the artists (only available at Double Break for this exhibition).

This past weekend MK2 projects unveiled a new mural by artist Shepard Fairey as well as opened an amazing group show featuring the art work of Shepard Fairey, Deedee Cheriel, Mercedes Helnwen, Mark Walen (Kill Pixie), Mel Kadel, Travis Millard, Matt Small, Samuel Lower (FresPrs), Lezly Saar, Aiko Nakagawa, Todd Carpenter and Steven R. Opening this Friday, November 11th is Double Break's fifth exhibtion: Double Breaks. The group show is co-curated by LA-based artist Jay Howell and Double Break co-owner Louis Schmidt. The show hosts some of our favorite artists including Mark Mulroney, Thomas Campbell, Mark Whalen, Travis Millard, and Mel Kadel just to name a few.

The Ace Hotel NYC approached THIS Los Angeles wanting to collaborate on some idea, one being to bring THIS' annual big ass group show east. So that is what they did, and tonight, August 12, at Ace Hotel NYC, THIS LA is presenting These Friends At the Ace with such artists as Geoff McFetridge, Mel Kadel, Chris Duncan, Curtis Kulig and others.
