There will be debate, and plenty of happy/angry people surrounding Disney and Sam Raimi's new prequel to the landmark 1939 masterpiece, The Wizard of Oz, the James Franco starring Oz: the Great and Powerful. Adapted from L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the film will follow Oz' life prior to our meeting of him in the 1939 film. So we time travel together: 1939 to 2013, back to pre-1939.

Does F. Scott Fitzgerald's penultimate text, perhaps American literature's penultimate text, really need a full exploding screen experience directed by Baz Luhrmann, the man who made Moulin Rouge and the techo Romeo + Juliet? From the first trailer for the new update to The Great Gatsby, it actually may be pulled off and not have everyone running for the aisles.

There is a ton of anticipation for Wes Anderson's return to real actors with his newest film, Moonrise Kingdom, and Anderson regular Bill Murray hosts a tour (yes, you can tour films now, especially the big-budget arty ones like a Wes Anderson film) of Moonrise Kingdom. That's right, he just sort of talks the film out to you. We like it. We might take that idea and have Robert Williams talk out each issue...

Look down the list of "summer blockbusters" each year, and you see a lot of studios just dialing in hundreds of millions of $$s praying that something sticks. Most of the time, we get some Green Lantern nonsense, but occasionally we get something that appears to have a good thing going for it. We are going to assume that Christopher Nolan's final chapter of his Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, will be entertaining enough and worth some popcorn and a jumbo soda pop, based off the official trailer...

You want a little bit of the dizzys this morning? How about watching the full trailer of Ridley Scott's Alien-prequel, Prometheus? Everything is fun until the last 30 seconds, and if you turn it up really loud you will scare the person in the cubicle next to you. Starring Charlize Theron, Prometheus will be released on June 8, 2012.

What's a Tim Burton movie without Johnny Depp in some really pale make-up? And on that topic, shouldn't he go by John now? You are, indeed, a grown-up now. Moving on, Tim Burton is set to release his new film, Dark Shadows, which is based on the slightly campy 1966-1971 supernatural soap opera of the same name. This could go either way, but you know the filmmaking and sets will be great as always.

Don't pretend you are not excited just a tad. Wes Anderson is one of the leading Hollywood directors when it comes to proper art direction and set design, and his newest film, Moonrise Kingdom, is due in theatres May 2012. And yes, there seems to be a Bruce Willis x Ed Norton moment.

You may remember our piece in the magazine on Evan Roth, but Members of Free Art and Technology (FAT), OpenFrameworks, the Graffiti Research Lab, and The Ebeling Group communities teamed-up with a legendary LA graffiti writer, publisher and activist, Tempt One, diagnosed with ALS in 2003, a disease which has left him almost completely physically paralyzed except for his eyes. Thus, the Eyewriter was created. This is Tempt's story.

Ridley Scott has a lot of weight on his shoulders with his Prometheus being the prequel to his Alien franchise, and the rumor he is making another Blade Runner, but from the looks of this trailer, we are starting on very good alien ground.
