We stopped by THIS Los Angeles for the opening reception of Gold Coast, an exhibition of new works by San Francisco based artists Daniel Gibson and Mike Bertino. The show's theme is around the idea of California, and the "vortex that happens between this kind of ambition and the illusion of indifferent coolness that bastardizes everything it comes in contact with."

The Ace Hotel NYC approached THIS Los Angeles wanting to collaborate on some idea, one being to bring THIS' annual big ass group show east. So that is what they did, and tonight, August 12, at Ace Hotel NYC, THIS LA is presenting These Friends At the Ace with such artists as Geoff McFetridge, Mel Kadel, Chris Duncan, Curtis Kulig and others.

Tonight, July 8, at THIS Gallery Los Angeles, the Non Toxic Revolution campaign exhibition that Juxtapoz is co-sponsoring, opens, featuring artwork from Shepard Fairey and Studio Number One and photography by Patrick O'Dell.

Philadelphia's Space 1026 founder and member, Andrew Jeffrey Wright, is opening a solo show in Los Angeles at THIS tonight, June 3. His solo exhibition is called "Down For Whatever Forever," and Mr. Wright and Rose Luardo will be putting on a live comedy performance at the opening.

This is kind of how we want the world to end. A severed head on a chair in an empty room, depicted by Richard Colman. We don't know if this piece will make it to THIS Los Angeles' one-night gallery show, Judgement Night, but we know there will be some Richard Colman (and others) work at the show.

A few weeks ago Sage Vaughn introduced us to Terri and Gary, a duo that is set to open a solo show, A Depiction of Love and Reality, this Friday, April 22, at THIS Los Angeles. What we didn't know was that we were going to stop by the offices of Terri and Gary to shoot a few of their products in conjunction with Love and Reality. The show, not the concepts. Megan Whitmarsh, who just closed an exhibition at THIS Los Angeles, has just released a new print through Paper Monster in a limited edition run of 50. The 18 color silkscreen print with hand embroidery is based on one of Whitmarsh's drawings. More after the jump . . .
