Caia Koopman has emerged as one of lowbrow’s preeminent female artists. With a well-rounded background from her years spent obtaining her BA in Fine arts from UC Santa Cruz, to her time spent in the skateboarding and snowboarding scenes, Caia’s environment has both molded and provided an eclectic background that makes her paintings come to life. She opens works with Sarah Joncas at Thinkspace Gallery this Saturday, June 16.

David Cooley is set to open a new series of works at Thinkspace Gallery this Saturday, June 16, with Dashing In Headlong. Cooley creates intricate multi layered, multi dimensional mixed media paintings using mostly acrylic, resin, spray paint, pen and fabric. We sat down with a quick conversation on the occasion.

Toronto-based fine artist Sarah Joncas is set to open a new body of work in Between Wind and Water, a show at Thinkspace Gallery that also features the work of Caia Koopman. The show opens on Saturday, June 16 in Culver City. As a child, Joncas loved to draw dinosaurs and lizards. Things have since changed for the recent graduate of Ontario College of Art and Design's BFA program.

On Saturday, May 26, Thinkspace Gallery will open the big group show, Wild At Heart: Keep Wildlife in the Wild, an exhibition to raise awareness about the precarious predicament of wild creatures around the world, and to benefit efforts to protect them in their natural habitat. Featuring more than 110 artists, the show features works from Aaron Horkey, ARYZ, Dabs Myla, Esao Andrews, Know Hope, Pedro Matos, and many others.

Stephanie Buer began pursing a career in art at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan where she fell in love with the city and urban exploration. She spent the next ten years living in Detroit and developing as an artist. Her newest exhibition, Nothing Lasts Forerver, opens at Thinkspace Gallery on Saturday, April 28. Fumi Nakamura was born in December 1984 in a small town called Shimizu outside of Shizuoka, Japan. Fumi grew up surrounded by beautiful mountains and the ocean and this environment has had a lasting effect on her work. She will open a new exhibition, Our Hands Will Eventually Destroy Everything Beautiful, at Thinkspace Gallery this Saturday, March 31st.

On Saturday, March 31, Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City, California will open, The Specific Illusion, an exhibition of new works by Japanese artist, Yosuke Ueno. With this being Yosuke's third solo show with Thinkspace, the works finds the artist reflecting upon and strongly influenced by the changes in Japan since the Great Earthquake and Tsunami of March 11th, 2011.
