Opening February 4 at Thinkspace Gallery in Los Angeles, There Is Time To Kill Today will showcase new paintings, drawings and the debut of a new series of charcoal works on canvas from Burbank-based artist Ana Bagayan. Her work explores images of adolescence as metaphors for larger themes of ethos and wonder and has been featured in such publications as Rolling Stone, Spin, GQ and various others.

Tonight, January 7 at Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City, Esao Andrews and Allison Sommers each open new bodies of work, respectively. We had a chance to speak with both artists this week, but go and check out both shows if you are in Southern California.

Esao Andrews is set to open a new body of work, Nowhere, at Thinkspace Gallery this Saturday, January 7th. We sat down and talked to the fine artist about buying a car, why restaurants get his orders wrong, and how the first 15 minutes of Up destroyed him.

Allison Sommers is a Brookyln-based visual artist working primarily in gouache. She creates complicated, intricate, sometimes uncomfortable worlds of meat, vegetation, and birds and beasts of various sizes. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in History. Sommers opens a new body of work, Potter's Field, at Thinkspace Gallery on January 7, 2012.

Thinkspace Gallery recently hosted João Ruas’ solo exhibition, Yore. Selfishness, complexes, everyday issues and anxiety are not exclusive of our times. While seemingly obvious, our unconscious arrogant adolescent attitude towards the people that walked on the same grounds we live on, however, tries to prove the contrary.

Leontine Greenberg will have her work on display at Thinkspace Gallery's Project Room starting this Saturday, December 10. Specimens will feature the Jackson Heights, Queens-based artists new body of work, inspired by old boats, city rooftops, the coming environmental apocalypse, and Beatrix Potter.

Andrea Offermann is currently displaying a new body of work in Thinkspace Gallery's Project Room. Here Be Dragons features a series of pen, ink, and watercolor works. We sat down for a quick discussion with the artist.

João Ruas has been on our radar for quite some time, and we have been looking forward to what the São Paulo artist would create for his solo show, Yore, at Thinkspace Gallery. Continuing on the theme of making art that appears unearthed in an abandoned home, these initial previews of Yore looks to be his best yet.

There are a bunch of fairs and art happenings in Los Angeles this weekend, and Thinkspace Gallery is part of Beyond Eden 2011, featuring La Luz De Jesus, Copro Gallery, Toy Art Gallery, Gallery Nucleus, and C.A.V.E. Gallery. Eden is open through today, October 2.

This September Thinkspace will host the debut U.S. solo show, Homage to Canton, from Scotland based artist Lindsey Carr. The show will be based around Canton, the old trading port in China where various flora and fauna were brought, traded ahd studied by merchants from around the world.
