Sheryo x The Yok "Pipe Dreams" @ Krause Gallery, NY

Sheryo and The Yok have taken their illustrative style combined eastern and western elements to hand painted vases. Rending Chinese dragos, pipes, geishas, and New York culture, the duo portray vaules of ideology, devotion, relationships, dharma and karma. Opening last night at Krause Gallery, their show "Pipe Dreams" will be on display through June 16th.

Brooklyn-based street artists, The Yok and Sheryo, have been collaborating on several walls over the last year, both having similar styles making the work hard to differentiate. They just sent over photos of some new work made in the streets, including walls from recent travels in South East Asia and Australia. Pizza eating pizzas? Can’t blame ‘em.

Dabs Myla's big 'Marvelous Expeditions' recently opened to a huge response at Thinkspace. The Australian artistic duo have taken full ownership of the gallery with the exhibit centered around an interactive installation created with close friend Greg "Craola" Simkins that found patrons smiling and enjoying themselves all evening long. Today, they speak with The Yok.

Yok started his droopy eyed drawings in a salty sea shack down under in a town called Perth. He developed a passion for loopy moustaches, seaworthy beards and potato headed rad lads. Yok works from a home studio in Brooklyn, New York and has exhibited in Berlin, New York, Tokyo, Sydney, Taipei, Beijing, Singapore Bangkok and Hong Kong, As well as unoficalial displays of street art in weird parts of the world that usually involve surf.
