What do Mondrian and Homer Simpson have in common? Apparently this bottle of mystery liquid, which may or may not be wine.

Crazy to think the venerable television mainstay "The Simpsons" is 25 years old, even though most of us on staff can't think of a time when the show wasn't part of global pop culture (pretty sure a few people on this staff actually never lived in a world of Bart, Homer, Marge, Lisa, and Maggie, but we digress) In a recent episode of the show, the creators made a homage to Studio Ghibli director Hayao Miyazaki, the man behind beloved animation films like Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, and Totoro.

Every year, and it seems like this has been going on since 1952, "The Simpsons" does a special Halloween episode under the moniker, Treehouse of Horror. This year, for the upcoming Treehouse of Horror XXIV episode, the show's producers invited director Guillermo del Toro of Hellboy fame to create the opening sequence to the show, which as you will see, was done quite wonderfully.
Graffiti // Friday, April 13, 2012
The Simpsons have always referenced graffiti, often with Bart being the culprit. Looks like Homer took a turn and as usual goofed things up.

Brilliant use of characters as an alphabet from the cast the Simpsons. Scratchy “S” looks pretty great!

You know you have become part of the pop-culture lexicon when you have made it onto "The Simpsons." This March 4, 2012, street art staples Shepard Fairey, Ron English, Kenny Scharf and Robbie Conal will all be appearing on the venerable sitcom, in an episode cleverly titled, “Exit Though The Kwik-E-Mart." Hey, Banksy already did the Simpsons opener, let's bring some other street art heavyweights onto the scene.
