The ICA is delighted to present The New Ambidextrous Universe, the first solo exhibition in the UK by American artist Tauba Auerbach. Auerbach’s ICA show will feature newly created sculptures and photography works which take as their starting point the scientific principles of symmetry and reflection as a means to hint at an alternate, mirror universe.

Last week, we attended the preview of the SFMOMA's newest exhibition, Field Conditions, an exhibit that "bends and blurs the boundaries between conceptual art and theoretical architecture, using the notion of the 'field' to frame an investigation into the construction, representation, and experience of space." If you have never seen one of Tauba Auerbach's texture paintings in person, we suggest finding a local institution that houses Auerbach's work (SFMoMA for example) to check them out. Currently, Auerbach has texture paintings and works that "interweaves discordant positions such as disorder and order, readability and abstraction, permeability and solidity" on display in Bergen, Norway.

Taura Auerbach is a young and successful San Francisco/New York-based artist, and also a Stanford graduate. Auerbach's paintings create captivating textures on canvas, ie, flat canvases with these textures painted as an image.
