Tara Talks About "Lost Constellations: The Art of Tara McPherson II"

Juxtapoz // Friday, March 27, 2009
You know you’re getting big when MySpace features your artwork. Gallery MySpace? No, not quite, but the lovely Tara McPherson is definitely featured today on the massively popular social networking site that has increasingly built a reputation for having some less than classy features (eg becoming a haven for perverts and featuring any guy who just made a demo). Tara turns this myth upside down, showing off her latest book, Lost Constellations The Art of Tara McPherson II to eager MySpacers. This highly anticipated collection features all new works by this highly talented young woman.

" Lost Constellations: The Art of Tara McPherson Volume 2"

Juxtapoz // Thursday, December 11, 2008
Loss, love, and loneliness. Altered forms and transfigured ideas. Power and vulnerability. Parallel universes of the heart and mind. Space and time. In a few brief years, the stunning visual oeuvre of Tara McPherson (Juxtapoz #72) has grown and evolved at thrilling speed. Expanding beyond the limits of rock poster art into the worlds of commercial illustration and fine art, her paintings, drawings, toys, sculptures, and installations have pushed her influence and authority across the breadth of creative expression and helped redefine the boundaries of pop surrealism. Lost Constellations: The Art of Tara McPherson Volume 2 is the compelling road map to the artist's most recent and ambitious journeys in paint, pencil, and sculpture. “The book goes to print this week and will be out by next April. We are hoping to have a couple cases of advance copies for Flatstock 20/SXSW in Austin in March. (Cross your fingers!)” Tara told us. “I am also planning a book tour in the US and Europe this summer, so be on the lookout for dates to be announced.” Pre-order available now through Dark Horse. Tara McPherson, Doze Green, Jim Houser & Adam Wallacavage at Choque Cultural in Brazil

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, December 09, 2008
In affiliation with Jonathan LeVine Gallery, Choque Cultural is having a three-person exhibition with Tara McPherson (work above) Doze Green (work below) and Jim Houser, with a special installation by Adam Wallacavage. All four of these artists are not only living legends in the world of contemporary art, but they have all gotten love in the pages of Juxtapoz, so (needless to say) we’re pretty damn excited that they will be making their collective debut in Brazil at Choque Cultural. The show opens January 17th, 2009, with all artists in attendance, and will remain on display thru February 27th, 2009. More at www.choquecultural.com.br
