Korean-born, New York City-based artist Sun K. Kwak began experimenting with black masking tape after feeling disconnected with her career as a painter. Her exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum entitled Enfolding 280 Hours used approximately three miles of black masking tape!

  Using layers of translucent packing tape on clear, backlit Plexiglas panels, Ukrainian artist Mark Khaisman transforms a commonplace material into a fine art medium. He says, 'By superimposing layers of translucent tape, I play on degrees of opacity that produces transparencies highlighted by the color, shading, and embossment.'

One of the artists that we are excited to meet at Nuart this year is Aakash Nihalani, who has taken a very interesting, geometric, often illusionary approach to public and street work. Recently, he was on Long Island for the Lisa de Kooning Artist in Residence program, and the result of his work is quite impressive.
