The creatures found in self-taught Syrian painter Sabhan Adam's work could only be found in nightmares. The variety of dark and gruesome creatures all have a face that is similar to his own. "The figures I paint have so many things in common with me--they look like me, they have the same head and the same asian eyes as me. I draw myself with everything that exists inside--the sadness, the misery, the shocking things I have faced, the isolation, and the feeling of not belonging to this world."

Syrian artist Muhammad Ejleh has been spending his personal time while studying architectural design to work on his 3D drawings. Using only a sketchpad and pencils, the 20-year-old-student manages to make his characters and architecture pop out of the page.

Born in Damascus in 1973, Jaber Al Azmeh received his BFA in Visual Communications at Damascus University. He had his first solo exhibition titled Metaphors in 2009 at Atassi Gallery, Damascus, followed by Green Art Gallery, Dubai, where he also exhibited Traces in 2011. This series is called Wounds.
