Going on three years, Juxtapoz Art & Culture Magazine and Converse have collaborated on site-specific public art projects around the United States as part of the Converse “Wall to Wall” campaign. As you have probably noticed by now, Juxtapoz has teamed up with Converse to bring some of our favorite artists to Austin during 2014 SXSW to create installations, performances, and interactive art around the city. Dennis McNett who you may know by the Wolfbat moniker, has been building a ship outside the Yellow Jacket Social Club all week preparing for a Wolfbat happening like none other taking place Saturday, March 15th at 10:15pm. All are welcome to come by, build masks, axes, help, and participate!

I was never a good doodler. I tried, but mainly I made attempts at recreating the Stussy and Mossimo signature logos when any class that wasn't English or History. So I get the doodling during Biology class routine, but I was never this good. Created by Danny Madden, Will Madden, and Jonathan Silva of Ornana Films, this short (notes on) biology, won an animation award at last year's SXSW.

As we are getting prepared for all things SXSW, we are getting our schedules in order, and one stop we will be making is to the Brisk Bodega Cantina to see the artwork based on Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. One of the artists that is definitely making it worth the trip is Chicago-based graffiti artist and cartoonist, former Juxtapoz featured artist, POSE.

We have been huge fans of Jasper Wong for quite some time, one of the reasons being that he has one of the best sense of humors of anyone we follow in the art world. Its infectious, to say the least. One of our favorite things about him is that, as a child, he attempted to grow chest hair through mental telepathy. Not sure if it worked.

We enjoyed watching this video this morning, "A Brief History of Title Design." It covers, you guessed it, the history of title design in movies and television, including King Kong, Mad Men, and Dr. No, amongst a bunch of other titles. Enjoy the video after the jump . . .

This week at SXSW, Spike Jonze will screen his short film based off of Arcade Fire's Album of the Year The Suburbs, "Scenes From the Suburbs." The short expands on Jonze's video for the lead track, "The Suburbs," where it follows kids in, you guessed it, the suburbs, as they deal with all things suburbia that the Arcade Fire album covered very well. Watch the trailer after the jump . . .
