As we wrote last month, Swoon is showing in Melbourne, Australia at Metro Gallery, and the Australian press has been more than happy to embrace the Brooklyn-based artist. Printmaking Today and ROA Installation at Black Rat Projects in London

Tomorrow night (Thursday, February 10) at Black Rat Projects in London, they will be opening an exhibition titled Printmaking Today, as well as an installation by Belgian artist ROA. The annual Printmaking Today show will feature works by Swoon, Matt Small, Candice Tripp, Banksy, Damien Hirst, and a Henningham Family Press’ Chip Shop performance. One of the great street, fine, and philanthropic artisits active today, Callie Curry, aka Swoon, has become synonymous with creating art on her own terms. This TEDxBrooklyn talk is very interesting and enlightening, in that Callie really reflects on the positive energy and impact afforded to her under the project and moniker she calls Swoon. This is really a great talk and we highly recommend spending some time watching it in full.

Swoon and the Progress of the Konbit Shelter Project

We just got word on the progress of Swoon and team's trip back to Haiti to continue the work on the Konbit Shelter Project. With Swoon’s Walki print and a Rockefeller grant, the team was able to put the plans in motion to return and make their promise a reality. Juxtapoz Detroit Project Written Up in Free Press

This past Fall, as we have documented in full, we saw 6 artists off to Detroit to work with Powerhouse Productions as part of our 15th Anniversary Benefit and Auction project. Swoon, Ben Wolf, Monica Canilao, RETNA, Richard Colman, and Saelee Oh all created unique pieces of art in the neighborhood where the money we raised was able to buy property. The local Detroit Free Press just highlighted the project in an extensive article. More information after the jump . . .
