New Works by Kilian Eng

Juxtapoz // Thursday, September 27, 2012
We featured Swedish artist Kilian Eng in the magazine this past June 2012, and we just saw that he updated his site with a group of fantastic works. Otherworldly, Tron style, and some futuristic spacesuit travel pieces make this seem like a spread from a magazine of the year 2050.

The Works of Suzannah Sinclair

Juxtapoz // Thursday, September 13, 2012
This isn't the first time we have talked about the work of Suzannah Sinclair, and it won't be the last. With memories of classic 1970's erotica, done in watercolors and pencil, the work of the Maine-based fine artist feels nostalgic to a more subtle era of sexuality and nude work. No props, just beautiful subjects with classic rendering chops.

Photographs from Beat Eisele

Swedish photographer Beat Eisele captures soft and erotic photographs of women showing some skin. Were all about his work which includes women lounging in bed, wearing wet t-shirts, and hanging in their undies.

Epic Ink by Peter Lagergren

Tattoo // Sunday, August 12, 2012
Epic is the only word to describe the work of Mälmo, Sweden-based tattoo artist Peter Lagergren. Lagergren has mastered the traditional style, excelling in his attention to detail, vibrant colors and clean linework. This is body art at its best. You can find Lagergren working at Mälmo Classic Tattooing.

New works by Sweden's Markus Åkesson

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, August 07, 2012
We saw these new works by Swedish fine artist, Markus Akesson, yesterday, and they stayed in the back of our mind's all night, so we figured that must be a sign. The new paintings, most of them shown here, are set to be on display at the VIDA Museum in Borgholm, Sweden, from August 18 to September 30, 2012. The works are all oil on linen.

New Mattias Adolfsson Sketchbook Works

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, August 07, 2012
It is no secret, we love the illustrative works of Swedish artist, Mattias Adolfsson. And, again, no secret that one of our favorite past times is looking in the Moleskines of our favorite illustrators, because, sometimes, that is where the real pirate's treasure lies. For Adolfsson, this is no exception.

Big Fat Joe

Tattoo // Tuesday, July 31, 2012
Big Fat Joe is a tattooer and DJ from Sweden. With only three years of inking under his belt, his portfolio is filled with a ton of unique tatts. Here is how he describes a typical work day- "I wake up at nine, get a shower and pet the cats. After that I walk into the studio to draw the tattoos for the day and have a quick salad. The work all day til seven or eight, clean my gear and sterilise and finally walk home. That’s my weekday. On the weekend I play rockabilly records in bars and drink a few beers."

Delicate Photo from Hanna Hak

Erotica // Sunday, July 29, 2012
Here is a photo that can be considered both tender and emotional- words not often used to describe a simple breast shot. Hanna Hak is the photographer who captured this intimate shot and is based out of Sweden.

Blade Runner as Watercolors, Part 1

Juxtapoz // Monday, July 02, 2012
Apparently, this is Part 1, and there will be more. Somebody who really, really loves Blade Runner (one thing we have learned while at Juxtapoz; people love Super Mario, Legos, Star Wars, and Ridley Scott, but you knew that) created the opening 12 minutes of the film using over 3285 aquarelle paintings. Harrison Ford's acting is better in watercolor form.
