The elusive and increasingly cult-icon Swampy just released his first product in quite some time, two new prints through Paper Monster. I Like Disappearing and Owl of Yawn are available now. And as Paper Monster notes, "Before releasing this edition of prints, he kept them locked in the closet of an abandoned house owned by an infamous cult in Oakland."

Thousands turned out this past weekend to catch the Endless Canvas graffiti warehouse opening, Special Delivery Bay Area 2012, in Berkeley, California. The show was a follow up to last year's show of the same name in Portland, Oregon, and despite minimal coverage by any local press outlets (minus the morning news sighting graffiti "tags" spread around the neighborhood, something the building owner already said they would pay to clean up), the show turned out to be one of the most exciting art events in the East Bay in recent years.

Swampy channeled his 8-year-old self into this new mural in Brooklyn using the wall like an oversized piece of paper. “No God, No Master, No Astrology.”

I don’t know how much of a coincidence it is that this Challenger is conveniently parked in front of this Swampy rolldown in the Chelsea district of New York, but they sure do compliment each other well.  Maybe it’s Swampy’s weekend whip for benching trains?

Last year, Juxtapoz followed Swampy freight hopping from Oakland, CA to Elko, Nv to compile content for an article that appeared in the July 2011 printed issue.  The Internet recently revealed this gem made during the trip, making sure you never doubted the world to be small.

You have likely seen the swamp donkey moniker somewhere when looking up, down, or just somewhere you normally wouldn’t look, they pop up in the strangest places.  This one just happens to be on top of a water tower with a nice view of the ocean.
