January 2015 Issue Preview w/ Dan Witz, Ryan McGinness, Kazu and More

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, December 02, 2014
Juxtapoz is proud to both kick off the 2015 year with a cover story on Brooklyn-based fine artist Dan Witz in our print edition. But we are even more proud that it will be released at our booth at Scope Art Fair Miami Beach and on shelves around the world during the holiday shopping rush. Witz is overdue for the cover, with his mosh pit paintings and unique street art being enjoyed by collectors and readers for over two decades.

SUZANNAH SINCLAIR "Nature Nudes and Interiors" @ Samsøñ, Boston

Erotica // Friday, September 12, 2014
One of Juxtapoz' favorite artists, Suzannah Sinclair, just opened a new series of works at Samsøñ in Boston, Mass, "Nature Nudes and Interiors." We have always loved the SInclair's almost throwback style of watercolor and pencil drawings, but the addition of the nature and interior works, juxtaposed with the nostalgic nudes, makes for a compelling series that we wish we could make it out to Boston to check out.

Suzannah Sinclair's Sensual Women

Erotica // Friday, August 29, 2014
'My work is based on mirroring and transference, finding things in the world that already exist and projecting my personal experiences and emotions on to them. Reinterpreting that experience as a painting for others to then do the same. Being a woman, it’s what I know and what I am drawn to...'

Another Look at Suzannah Sinclair

Juxtapoz // Monday, October 08, 2012
Artist Suzannah Sinclair's dreamy and seductive work is largely inspired by the vintage pornography of the 60's and 70's, a time when earthy sensuality and voluptuous figures reigned supreme. By using pale washes of watercolor to allow the soft grain of her birch wood canvases to come through, Sinclair perfectly merges the visceral qualities of her medium with the nostalgic essence of her erotically-charged subject matter.

The Works of Suzannah Sinclair

Juxtapoz // Thursday, September 13, 2012
This isn't the first time we have talked about the work of Suzannah Sinclair, and it won't be the last. With memories of classic 1970's erotica, done in watercolors and pencil, the work of the Maine-based fine artist feels nostalgic to a more subtle era of sexuality and nude work. No props, just beautiful subjects with classic rendering chops.
