Our friends at Artnet just kicked off their Skate and Surf Auction, featuring an array of skate decks and surfboards with the art of some of the heavies of the current moment; Damien Hirst, Takashi Murakami. Barry McGee, Shepard Fairey, George Condo, to name a few. Actually, if you are like me, or any of us at the Juxtapoz office, this is your chance to score on some of the older limited edition Supreme artist collab decks they have done over the years, Condo and Hirst mainly...

Supreme always has a great art collaboration each season, and we thought that the HR Giger deck and jacket that was announced last month was solid enough. This week, the NYC-based fashion stalwart announced a collection with the legendary artist Raymond Pettibon (cover of Juxtapoz n100 if you are counting at home.) The collection features a skate deck design, hoodie, jacket, and t-shirts in multiple colorways. Go get it starting on September 18.

The kids like to line up good and early for a new Supreme drop, while we just like to admire their art collaborations from a distance because we have work to do and can't wait in a line for 6 hours for a five-panel. But we appreciate it. For the Fall/Winter 2014 line, Supreme teamed with the late/great Swiss painter and former Juxtapoz cover artist, H.R. Giger, on a coaches jacket and skate deck collection. That deck is a must-have.

A few years ago, August 2012 to be exact, we did a feature on the husband/wife fantasy art champions and visionaries, Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell. If you didn't know, Boris was the man behind the epic National Lampoon's Vacation and European Vacation posters. Supreme just unveiled their Spring/Summer 2014 collectoin, and we haven't seen anyone of the blogs notice that the NYC based fashion brand has a micro-collection of Boris-designed shirts in the midst of the other pieces of the collection.

KAWS is everywhere at the moment. Museum show in Philadelphia, two major exhibitions in NYC, and now the Brooklyn-based artist has lent his artwork to the cover of iD Magazine and their story on Supreme, KAWS, and how the super-but-not-super-big brand Supreme has conquered a portion of the fashion world. And model Candice Swaneepoel is the benefactor of KAWS art and some cleverly placed Supreme decks...

Supreme has always done a stellar job with their seasonal art collaborations, whether it be Damien Hirst, Murakami, Terry Richardson, Richard Prince, and KAWS, to name a few. This season they go right to the thick of the NYC downtown scene, with a special capsule collection featuring the late and influential Jean-Michel Basquiat. Supreme and the Basquiat Estate collaborating on a two oxford shirts, a long sleeve tee, a few short sleeves, a hoodie, and a M-65 Cassius Clay jacket.

Each season, NYC-based skate-aesthetic-fashion brand, Supreme teams up with California-based Vans for a special sneaker release. For the Spring/Summer 2013 collaboration, the two brands took the iconic album cover for New Order's 1983 benchmark, Power, Corruption & Lies, and applied it to the Chukka, The Era, and the SK8-Hi.

Cult-followed and fashion staple Supreme has been in the news quite a bit in the past week, first with a huge spread in the NY Times, and now they will have a skate deck retrospective exhibition at the 032c Workshop in Berlin opening Saturday, December 1. The deck collaboration series for Supreme has seen some of the biggest names in contemporary art stop in for a few deck designs: Damien Hirst, George Condo, Takashi Murakami, Richard Prince, KAWS, Marilyn Minter, and Futura, to name a few.
