To have your artwork cover the inside and outside of a New York subway car is a rare opportunity for any artist, especially one who initially made his name in the streets with graffiti. Kaws who has gone on to become an accomplished artist and businessman in a number of platforms, was also recently invited to participate in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade with his own signature balloon. To see the cars in person head on down to Grand Central Station or Times Square and catch the S train. You won’t miss it!

Plenty of photographs try to convey the experience and adventure of graffiti, often failing. This photograph nails the subjects cautious advancement into a train station, checking to see if any workers are below.

Apparently there are still subway platforms in the world where one can paint a Psilocybin-induced, Candy Land reminiscent piece, if they feel so inclined.

This is the daily wow. We found out about MTA.me today, and on the site, Conductor turns the New York subway system into an interactive string instrument. Using the MTA’s actual subway schedule, the piece begins in realtime by spawning trains which departed in the last minute, then continues accelerating through a 24 hour loop.
