Escif has been highly productive in the streets lately, painting several new murals in Modena, Italy for the Icon 59 Festival and currently is in Montreal, Canada where he just finished the large image of a giant deadbolt for their local Mural Festival.

The following is a selection of various works painted by a street artist who goes by the alias, Alleg. While most of these pieces have reoccurring elements such as cars and figures, others are completely abstract using organic shapes.

On June 8, one million handcrafted bones constructed from clay, paper machete and other materials were placed in the National Mall in Washington D.C. in a visible protest against ongoing genocide and mass atrocities. Organized by The Art of Revolution, the bones were created by artists, educators, students and activists from around the globe and weighed in at a total of 130,000 pounds of bones!

The city of Montreal is going to see a significant amount of art popping up on walls around town as the first ever Mural Festival is currently underway.  The event includes over 20 local and international artists goes through the weekend, with wall being painted predominantly in the Boulevard St-Laurent area. Roa has already spent a few days painting his wall and we can’t wait to see the finished product. Other artists that will be offering their mural services will be Escif, Pixel Pancho, Phlegm, Other, Labrona, Jason Botkin and many more.

Nuxono Xän’s portrait of a man picking at his Afro (Which as you can see is a tree behind the wall) is a clever method to using other elements in the environment besides just the wall itself. Now what happens in winter when all those leaves fall? 

Last week we reported on the many walls that Julien Seth or Seth Globepainter or just Seth, had painted around Paris, with his largest wall still in process. Now the artist has completed this large wall with a beautiful dreamlike piece of a girls sitting on an upside down rainbow umbrella that is resting on a number of other colorless umbrellas. Flying fish can be seen floating by in the background and a small lizard and bird are keeping her company.

Dave Choe will be releasing two different sized prints at 9pm Pacific Standard Time on Monday June 17, 2013 that are titled “blanket.” The image is of a women sleeping in what Choe describes as “A reality distortion force field.” Each print has additional hand painted watercolors so no two are alike. 

Italy-based artist, Aris, has updated the Interwebz with some of his recent work he has painted outside. His paintings are often of abstract shapes that resemble silhouettes of human figures or natural elements. Although, two of these new walls are exceptionally different being how straightforward they are. The artist painted an igloo with branches and a pigeon portrait? 

Aryz teamed up with his old friend Vicio to paint a new wall in Fraga, Spain. Vicio laid out the background with colorful designs that includes a smiley face, a dog bone, and a diamond, while Aryz contributed a dog portrait with a fish in his mouth, a side view of a dog, and a fish sliced in half with a smiley face on its insides. 

Now in France, Alexis Diaz also know as La Pandilla, has just finished installing a series of sectioned canvases that were stretched onto a circular metal structure. The artist is in Toulouse to particpate in the Rio Loco Festival.
