Kader Attia's Mirrored Tombstones

  “From a distance the mirrors shine brightly but the closer you get the less attractive they become because they reflect reality,” says Parisian artist, Kader Attia, speaking on the series “Holy Land”. The environment altering installations of mirrored tombstones have been displayed in two locations, one on the Canary Islands and the other in the countryside of Tucson. Attia’s Interest lies in the conflict of identity, specifically cultural backgrounds and ethnicity.

Axis and Swank paint Barracuda wall in Los Angeles

  After six full days of painting in the sun, Los Angeles artists, Axis and Swank, completed this mural on the exterior of the Barracuda wall on Melrose in Los Angeles. Everything to the left of the kitten on top of the spray tip is Axis, with the rest on the right by Swank. Unfortunately, it was short lived as most of the art on this wall is and has already been painted over by someone else. Check out the attached video documenting the two painting the piece.

Jade contributed one of his signature characters with their back turned away, while Amed who is currently a student of Architecture painted the various designs that show the influence of his studies.

A Mural Made From 85,794 Rubik's Cubes

Toronto-based Cube Works Studio is renowned for their work twisting Rubik's cubes and Rubik's-style cubes into works of art. They used 85,794 Rubik's Cubes to create this stunning, 13-foot high, 200-foot long mural in Macau, China.
