Last week we posted photos of two excellent walls members of The Weird had painted while in Detroit. That wasn’t all though. Here are another two bizarre and unusual murals the collective painted. The lineup is as follows:  Nychos, Dxtr, Cone, Vidam, Hrvb, and Look.

Giant Dragon Skull appears at Charmouth Beach

Street Art // Thursday, July 18, 2013
What is it about Game of Thrones that would compel three sculptors to create a giant Jurassic park size skull and put it on a beach in anticipation for the premier of the third season? We haven’t seen any episodes and we will continue to crown The Wire as king. Well, it was used as PR stunt for the TV and film streaming service, Blinkbox, but the obsession is alarming. Two whole months were dedicated in designing the 40-foot-long, 8-foot-wide menacing skull that rests at Charmouth Beach in Dorset. Is the show worth all the hype?

New Vhils mural in Philadelphia

Street Art // Tuesday, July 16, 2013
In conjunction with The City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program,Vhils just wrapped up a new wall in The City of Brotherly Love. The artists approach to this particular wall is uniquely different than your typical mural. Vhils first wheatpasted historic photographs from Philadelphia then covered them with a layer of white paper and finished by cutting away to reveal a portion of the collaged photographs. It looks great from the photos and probably better in person. You can see it at Drury Street between 13th and Juniper streets in Philadelphia.

David De La Mano has created yet another mural while in Montevideo, Uruguay. This time, the artist painted a monochromatic circle filled with his tiny-silhouetted characters. They all appear to be moving toward the middle where one character lies flat, presumably killed.
