Video: Anthony Lister - Never odd or even

Earlier this year, Australian painter, Anthony Lister, held an exhibition entitled “Never Odd or Even” at Robert Fontaine Gallery in Miami. Two videos have been released documenting the installation process, mural painting and the opening of the exhibition. The artist speaks on his upbringing, process and idea, with an interesting correlation to graffiti and strippers.  There is also a guest appearance by Carla Azar of AutoLux who performed at the opening reception.

Participating in the Muas Malaga Urban Art Festival in Malaga, Spain, South African artist, Faith 47, painted the towering image of a woman accompanied with the words "Infinitud Del Universo."

3TTMAN has been experimenting with an alternative process to creating murals in which he lays cement down and then drawing his outline directly into the cement while wet. After it dries, he paints the surface creating a textured piece with extra depth. This new brightly colored piece was created for the Relazioni Festival in Rosarno, Italy.

South African artist Robin Rhode embraces a variety of media from photography to drawing, animation, performance and sculpture. Using simple, ephemeral devices, the Berlin-based artist often works in public spaces, using walls or just the street as his canvas. Rhodes transforms simple shapes into elements of narratives, interacting with only an imagined presence.

"Zero Infinito" by Agostino Larcuci

Painted in Rome, Italy and organized by Wunderkammern, “Zero Infinto” is the newest mural painted by artist Agostino Lacurci. In the painting, two of the artist’s signature characters are climbing up and down on a ladder that resembles the infinite symbol. Both characters mirror each other if flipped around making a perfect balance in this piece.

Phlegm @ Empty Walls Festival

Participating in the Empty Walls Festival in Cardiff, Wales, Sheffiled-based artist, Phlegm painted the symbolic image of a Welsh Dragon in monochrome. The dragon is interestingly placed across four varying and was organized by modern Alchemists.

Cone The Weird

This is Cone’s contribution to a large wall that the Weird painted in part of “Goodbye Monopol 2” in Luxemburg. The artist went with a “screens theme,” which most of us can relate to whether as a participant or as an observation.

Since the last time we posted about Banksy's month long street residency in NYC, Better Out Than In, we have witnessed a few pieces going up in NYC (or at least part of the masses going to see the pieces) and see the backlash of a certain Mayor Bloomberg making his comments about "urban decay." Banksy has given us a confessional, Ronald McDonald's wage reenactment, a Central Park painting sale, a pop-up outdoor show with Os Gemeos under the High Line, and of course, trying to staying Ghetto 4 Life.
