Street Art // Sunday, June 19, 2011
Air Trees Water Animals = ATWA.  Things are getting cultish in the depths of the darkness.

The Town is Weird

Street Art // Saturday, June 18, 2011
There’s a distinct and abnormal breed of artists painting in the Oakland streets these days.  It may have something to do with the aggressive violence or the unique history of the city itself.  What we do know is, Oakland is it’s own enigma.  Here is a Feral Child and Dan Bortz decorated truck.

San and Escif near Yosemite Valley, California

Juxtapoz // Saturday, June 18, 2011
As Escif and San continue their road show throughout California and the West Coast, they made a stop in Yosemite Valley to put up another quick wall. And as always, great message, high concept, great execution from the Spanish artists.

Twisto

Street Art // Friday, June 17, 2011
I consider Twist to be more of a graffiti writer, but his impact on character-based work in the streets is undeniable.  This photograph shows a young Twist in action painting one of his signature screws.

Australian-based artist, Meggs will be exhibiting new work in London at Red Bull Studios this Thursday, June 23rd.   The work will be based on, “fears, desires and obstacles which each person faces within themselves”.  Meggs works in a variety of mediums, but is most recognized as a designer, painter, and street artist.

Essu

Street Art // Thursday, June 16, 2011
On my first visit to Tokyo, Essu’s stickers stood out immediately and blanketed the city.  The Twist influence is apparent, but there is something about the monochrome esthetic that is highly appealing.  I’m unsure whether Essu shows in galleries or just sticks to the street, nevertheless it’s always a treat to stumble on this artists work.

Everyone loves swings, well everyone who enjoys simple pleasures.  What’s not to like, back and forth.  Artist Jeff Waldman has been installing a series of illegal swings around the Los Angeles area supported by a grant awarded from the The Awesome Foundation.
