Very Hungry God Sculpture

Back in 2006, New Dehli-based artist, Subodh Gupta created the following piece titled “Very Hungry God.”   Constructed of Stainless steel kitchen utensils in reaction to reports that French soup-kitchens were using pork as an ingredient to deter Muslims from partaking in the meals.  The sculpture was exhibited internationally and eventually found a home in François Pinault's extensive collection.

We are trying to figure out more about this artist, Andison Quito, who did this great telephone pole piece in Ecuador. We can't seem to find much information, so if anyone has the head's up, let us know. A well-done, dramatic piece like this deserves an audience.

I was convinced that the person who was responsible for this painting was deeply immersed in methamphetamines and just “went for it” one day. Loading this picture up to share, I noticed that it was just a photo placed over the van. This was disappointing news, but we want to inspire someone to “go for it: and paint a Big Rig on a van!
