New Herakut Mural in Germany

The train tracks entering Mannheim, Germany have been upgrade with a lengthy mural titled “Brothers helping Sisters helping…” by the German-based duo, Herakut.  The couple were commissioned by the city to create the mural and the final product stands strong.

The painterly murals painted by Buenos Aires-based collective, Triangulo Dorado, are uniquely calm in mood with simplistic imagery.  This newest mural depicts a person lying in a multi-colored bed of flowers under an abstract sky.

Clemson Clay Nest

In 2005, Bavarian artist, Nils-Udo, created a giant Nest built of clay, bamboo stocks, and pine logs in the botanical gardens at Clemson University of South Carolina. The installation lasted for two years until the staff at the university determined the sculpturewas no longer safe and with consent from the artist was dismantled.

You have likely seen the swamp donkey moniker somewhere when looking up, down, or just somewhere you normally wouldn’t look, they pop up in the strangest places.  This one just happens to be on top of a water tower with a nice view of the ocean.

Sand Sculptures Exhibition at Tottori Dune

Focusing on the theme of “Great Britain” in preparations for the London Olympic Games, a team of talented artists created a massive sand sculpture exhibition at the Sand Museum located in the Tottori Dunes of Japan.  Many of the sculptures represent themes such as Shakespeare and Sir Isaac Newton, English pubs, London taxis, and Big Ben and Westminster.

MOMO & Piet Dieleman Video

Multi disciplinary artists, Momo and Piet Dieleman, collaborated in painting a public mural where the two would go over each other’s work for a week.  The project took place at the independent culture festival “Incubate” in Holland and you can see part of the process in the following video.

Cat Drawn in Chalk

It’s obvious we love all things cats.  We don’t discriminate against dogs, however the feline image is more appealing to us.   This image of a cat was created by a 20-year old artist from Russia named Rustam Vallev.   Valley creates a variety of photo-realistic chalk renderings, however this is the one that caught our eye.
