Music // Friday, February 15, 2013
We previously reported that for Kurt Vile’s newest album he enlisted the expertise of fellow Philadelphian sign painter/wordsmith artist, Steve Powers aka ESPO. The album titled “Waking On a Pretty Daze” will incorporate Powers artwork on the cover and in the packaging from a mural he painted in Philly. A short documentary was created on the making of this mural. It includes some of the ideas behind the visual imagery and vocabulary Powers chose to use and incorporate on the wall.

Steve Powers x Case Studyo “Fresh Starts Every Morning” Porcelain Sculpture

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, December 19, 2012
It seems as if Steve "ESPO" Powers has been doing a bunch of great projects recently, first with his Icy Signs storefront, and now a collaborative porcelain art sculpture with Case Studyo, Fresh Starts Every Morning. Referencing ESPO's Today is the first day of the rest of your life painting, now you can pretend to start everyday like its a fresh start. Or perhaps you always do that. And if you don't, this will help.

ESPO's Creative Outlet in Brooklyn

Juxtapoz // Monday, December 17, 2012
Anyone feeling the holiday gift-buying panic yet? We sort of suffered through some high-tension shopping this past weekend, but if we were in Brooklyn, perhaps we would have found some peace. Steve Powers, 2x Juxtapoz cover artist, just opened a new storefront, ESPO's Creative Outlet. Residing at 4th Ave and Bergen St, in the Boerum Hill section of Brooklyn, the shop has a range of in-store only prints, along with ESPO-related books, catalogs, ephemera and a raincoat or two.
