Steve Powers, aka ESPO, recently worked with NYC Dot and the city's Summer Streets campaign, installing several of his wonderful signs across the streets of New York.

If you are a regular reader of Juxtapoz.com, you probably know that we often don't get the chance to write about art auctions on our site. But the editors here are constantly checking what is happening on the auction scene, and we really like some of the Lots that are up for bidding on the Artnet Urban Art Auction that is live through December 18, 2014.

MF Doom is all over the creative map at the moment, and not all of it has to do with music. First, he designed his own signature pair of Clarks Originals Wallabees. Then, he released his own custom rings designed by Han Cholo for Nature Sounds. And, after he had ESPO direct the music video for the JJ Doom track, "Bookhead," it looks like ESPO contributed some graphics to a limited edition Bookhead EP picture disc. We want everything we just mentioned...

We recently got introduced to the works of NYC-based Sam Meyerson, who has done work with Steve Powers' ICY Signs crew and had paintings on exhibit at Joshua Liner Gallery a few months back. Today we take a look at a bunch of different styles and works Meyerson has completed in recent years, including murals, sign paintings, paintings, sketches, and other various projects... check it.

The upcoming “Most Oddinism” exhibition presented by Topsafe London explores the boundaries of the plane where visual forms and letters meet. Together in a sprawling concrete space in the Design District (steps from Art Basel), these artists—working under similar themes but with strikingly individual results—will have their most groundbreaking works on show. The exhibition kicks off on the 4th of December and will run throughout Art Basel, challenging viewers to reconsider their notions of how meaning is made in contemporary art, but moreover the myriad ways it may be translated.

As we noted on the site last week, 2x Juxtapoz cover artist Steve Powers was commissioned to paint a 55-meter long public mural in front of the US embassy in Copenhagen to be completed on November 6, 2013. Our friend in Denmark, Henrik Haven went to check in and see the progress... and it was raining. And still, progress was made...

The Copenhagen scene continues to be an epicenter in Europe, and our friends at V1 Gallery have been doing their part with great curation and projects. The V1 team has worked with the US Embassy in Copenhagen to have former Juxtapoz cover artist, Steve "ESPO" Powers, create a large-scale, 55-meter long public mural in front of the embassy to be completed on November 6, 2013. While Powers is in Denmark, he will be part of a talk and screening of his film, A Love Letter For You.

If you have read Juxtapoz in print or online over the past few years, you know we have great affection with sign painitng. Seeing that we have headquarters in San Francisco and a Brooklyn outpost, we have been surrounded by great artists bringing back the tradition of sign painting, with none more strong than Steve "ESPO" Powers and the ICY Signs Shop in Brooklyn. This Thursday, Ocober 24, Joshua Liner Gallery will open an exhibition of works from the ICY Signs crew, entitled "Perfection is Standard, Mistakes Cost Extra."

This is a message to support a close member of the extended Juxtapoz family, so we will leave it in the words of cause..."The joeymerz benefit all started with an email... "Hey, just wanted to let you know that I was diagnosed with MS." This chilling email was sent to me from my long time friend, painting partner, crewmate, and basically my little brother."

Two of our favorite things, all in one visual. Steve "ESPO" Powers directing MF DOOM's new project, JJ DOOM. The 2x Juxtapoz cover artist teamed up with the now London-residing DOOM and his newest collaboration with Jneiro Jarel to give a video of the track "Bookhead." The video depicts our Saturday nights: corner liquor store, then reading a bit of Chaucer at the local library. Listening to DOOM. They read our mind...
