Progress is the substitute for faith when culture is all we have; and before realizing it we become unaware martyrs of this comfortable religion. Heavy metal is the law and will never die, Los Angeles based illustrator Sterling Bartlett gives me faith. His satirical, macabre works hint at cultural absurdities and its no wonder his insanely rendered graphite illustrations all over the apparel, skate and record industries while he consistently keeps his gallery hand strong. We are a few days away from HoodieBuddie's In Your Hood: HoodieCollab kick-off party in Venice Beach on November 4, and today we look at the another collaborative artist in the series, Sterling Bartlett. Bartlett is known for satirical illustrations, often featuring celebrities and pop-culture subjects.
