Photos: Ron English at Opera Gallery

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, December 04, 2007
Last Thursday's bitter cold didn't stop the masses from attending Ron English's latest solo show, Big Picture Pop, at the Opera Gallery in New York City on November 29th. Fans and collectors mingled and marveled at the new works, which were nothing short of stunning. The show's centerpiece was the incredible "Grade School Guernica," which measured an impressive 27 x 11 feet (a foot taller and wider than Picasso's original "Guernica"). For those who missed the opening night, you can visit the gallery before the show closes on Decemeber 29th or the paintings can be viewed at Ron's website, More...

Ron English at Opera Gallery, Nov 30th

Juxtapoz // Thursday, November 29, 2007
Master Pop-Surrealist Ron English will be having a ginormous solo show, Big Picture Pop, opening this Friday, November 30th at Opera Gallery's NYC digs with a reception starting at 6pm. English's new work is very much a continuation of his pop sensibilities, colorful, satirical, and ripe with socio-political commentary. It's never a disappointment with him, so if you're in the area you should fight the bitter chill and make your way over. The show runs until December 20th; the perfect time for you wealthy jet-setters to get the gift of Marilyn Monroe with Mickey Mouse's face as her breasts. The gift that keeps giving.
