Stanley Donwood x Radiohead “The King of Limbs” Newspaper Album Packaging

There was a big buzz a few months back when Oxford, England supergroup Radiohead announced their 8th LP, The King of Limbs. The music portion was exciting, but for we art and design nerds, it was the Stanley Donwood and Radiohead special "Newspaper Album" packaging that was slated for release June 1, 2011.

London-based Jux-contributor Butterfly was at the opening of Works On Paper, Stanley Donwood's new show at Lazarides' The Outsiders space. Must be a busy time for Mr. Donwood, as he is the artist behind the first ever "newspaper" album, as he does all the artwork for Radiohead. The Norwegian Wood Poster Competition

A lot of people are looking forward to the motion picture adapation of Japanese author Haruki Murakami's classic novel Norwegian Wood, being released this March, 2011. We are excited for the original score by Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood, some others are excited because this is like the Japanese Catcher in the Rye turned visual, and budding designers are excited because Don't Panic has created the Norwegian Wood Poster Competition. Stanley Donwood at Mondo Bizzarro Gallery in Rome through November

At the beginning of September 2010, we spent some significant time with Stanley Donwood here in San Francisco, and posted a 3-part interview with the artist on the site. Now, the Terry Gilliam of Radiohead has moved himself to Rome, Italy at Mondo Bizzarro Gallery for his newest show, "Palimpsest."
