Kicking off the exhibition program at Roq La Rue's new Seattle space in Pioneer Square will be Stacey Rozich's Within Without Me. We have been showing Rozich's work on the site for a few years, but this show is noted for "a jump up from previous shows containing larger, more complex works rendered in her trademark mediums of watercolor and gouache, as well as a deeper, more profound exploration of contemporary global social political themes."

The mysterious creatures and dark folk narratives of Stacey Rozich's illustrations pack a visceral punch, depicting an unfamiliar yet captivating mythology unique to Rozich's imagination, her clean lines and bold colors skillfully imbuing each illustration with its own self-contained story in the context of a larger mythos.

Stacey Rozich is a Seattle-based Illustrator and Graphic Designer. Stacey studied Illustration at California College of the Arts as well as Design at Seattle Central Creative Academy. Her client list includes The FADER, The Stranger, K Records, Southern Lord, and more. She has also shown in galleries in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Milwaukee and Berlin.

You have to love a band like Fleet Foxes, who release a critically acclaimed debut only to be just as solid on their sophomore effort. FF frontman Robin Pecknold's brother, Sean, just created this fantastic animation video for the epic track "The Shine/An Argument" off Fleet Foxes 2011 LP, Helplessness Blues. Great work. Stacey Rozich, whom we have profiled in the magazine before, did the character illustrations.
