We cruised by to check out our January 2013 cover artist Aryz's new mural in the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco this morning. It's coming along great, we can't wait to see the finished piece! We will keep you all up to date with his progress throughout the week! Shout out WallSpaceSF for getting him the wall!  

This educational center in El Chaparral, Spain by Alejandro Muñoz Miranda consists of walls and a ceiling with variable section, elements that create a sequence of compressed and decompressed spaces determined by their use.

We've been keeping up with our January 2013 cover artist Aryz while he's in San Francisco for his Style Is The Limit exhibition at Fifty24SF. We had stopped by last week while he was setting up and cruised by again yesterday to get a few pictures of the finished exhibition. For those of you who are lucky enough to be in the bay area, the show opened on Friday, April 13th.

In the region of Catalonia, Spain, "The Human Towers," or "Castells" in Catalan, are built during festivities and competitions, a tradition that goes back more than 200 years. David Oliete shot this series of photographs during the last Human Tower Completion where a crowded and base of hundreds of people is set up to provide "strength, balance, courage, and common sense."

We stopped by FIFTY24SF Gallery in San Francisco yesterday to say hello to January 2013 cover artist ARYZ and snap a few more teaser shots for you as he prepares for his new solo show, Style Is The Limit, opening this Friday, April 19th.

This morning we take a look at the work of Spanish painter and sculptor Samuel Salcedo. Samuel has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona and has exhibited at varius venus througout Spain. Speaking about his process the artist says, 'I invent during the process, so I don’t know what will happen at the end of the sculpture. I don’t always remember what I have done. Every time I stop, it’s something new.'  

The paintings of Valencian artist Tania Blanco examine the relationship between humanity and science. His round acrylic paintings are done on canvas or wood panels and have a strange, surreal clinical, doctors office feel to them.

We are enjoying Spanish photographer Francisco Reina's series Altered States. The manipulated photographs feature blood red colors and mysterious smoke. Francisco feels that 'the picture of the world that is constantly being shown to us has nothing to do with reality because the truth about every single event is buried under a mountain of lies.'  

  Hyuro’s imagery often depicts uncommon scenes that challenge stereotypes of women and social stigmas. This newest piece of a man and a women connected by a block of bricks was painted in her hometown of Valencia, Spain. 

This morning we are enjoying the work of Netherlands-based illustrator Elia Fernandez. Elia transforms reality into the abstract through his surreal, dream-like illustrations.
