We stopped by the openings of C215 at Shooting Gallery and Mark Warren Jacques at White Walls Gallery in San Francisco this past Saturday night to see what each artist had set-up for the holiday push. C215, featured in our November 2011 issue, had some great stencils on found objects, and Mark Warren Jacques was on hand to show some of his installation and fine art work.

Ferris Plock "Just For One Day" @ Shooting Gallery SF

San Francisco-based Ferris Plock is set to open a new solo show, Just For One Day, at Shooting Gallery this Saturday, October 1st. The new work expands upon Plock's use of ukiyo-e inspired design and unique characters while exploring the images that shaped his childhood.

Lisbon, Portugal-based Pedro Matos, a young and emerging artist whom we have profiled in the magazine in the past, just opened an exhibition, Ephemera, at San Francisco's Shooting Gallery. The exhibition features Matos' layered, textured oil on canvas works.

Friend to the magazine, Skinner, opens a new solo show, The Fragile Art of Existence, at Shooting Gallery, opening August 6, in San Francisco. The work in the show does feature some characteristic figures, but with more brightness and lightness than previous bodies of work.

Brooklyn-based artist, Anthony Sneed, slapped a new layer of paint on the walls of the Boundless NY shop in Williamsburg. Previously home to a character painted by Anthony Lister, Sneed’s new mural is refreshingly minimal, non-intrusive, and easy on the eyes.

Yumiko Kayukawa just opend a new solo show, Rock You In a Tatumi Room, at Shooting Gallery. We saw it at our 15th Anniversary Auction with Yumiko: people gravitate to the work. Besides being far better at Fruit Ninja than us (821? That is good), Ferris Plock is a very talented fine artist based in San Francisco, California. His solo show at Shooting Gallery late last year was well-received, and Ferris just released this new print, "Hidden," through Tiny Showcase for a good cause.
