Some pretty trippy stuff happens when you add mystery substances to water in a speaker... Media artists Sven Meyer & Kim Porksen latest Sonic Water installation sees water in small containers act as flexible 3D sculptures that "translate sounds into kinetic imagery through the use of light and speakers. The water containers produce wave patterns that "react like forces of nature, reproducing identical vibrational patterns found in the tones of the solar system." Woah.

Brooklyn-based artist Jose Suris IV created these awesome masks and sculptures out of paper! Despite looking like real fur, the animals were constructed out of paper, Styrofoam, wirefoam, and paperclay. Suris hangs his sculpted creatures and masks on displays just like a taxidermist. His inspiration? Pretty much everything: Internet videos, cartoons, Zelda, Pokémon’s Evee, stories...

Collaboration between the artists Thyra Hilden and Pio Diaz has produced this wonderful light sculpture, Forms in Nature, that likens a ball of tree branches. The light source in the center illuminates the ball and casts a forest of trees onto the floor, walls, and ceiling! Hilden & Diaz describe the piece, "The shadows engulf the room and transforms the walls into unruly shadows of branches, bushes, and gnarled trees. Mirrorings are thrown out upon the walls and ceilings provide weak Roschach-like hints of faces, life and flow of consciousness."

Dave Cole re-appropriates existing "tools "gives them a new purpose. For his The Music Box piece, the artist dismantled a 22,000 lb. steamroller, refabricating more than 80% of it and converting it into a fully functioning music box. Argentinian artist Gerardo Felstein uses wire, wood, textiles, and other materials for his bizarre sculptures. Originally studying electrical engineering, Gerardo first started to paint and now is an artists in several different fields.

This morning we take a look at some of Adam Neate's sculptures. Neat is a Bristish painter, conceptual and street artist who has been lauded worldwide for his paintings, sculptures, and public art.

Johan Scherft started making papercraft birds at the age of 14. His first birds were modeled after English artist Malcolm Topp and made using a colored pencil. Now 30 years later, the Dutch artist uses a computer to aid in initial blueprints and completes the rest of the painstaking process by hand. 

We love Belgium-based artist Fred Eerdekens' shadow typography created using everything from artificial cloud formations, food boxes, leaves, wires, and other found materials. They remind us of Diet Weigman's Michael Jackson shadow casting sculpture.

Italian artist Francesca Pasquali cuts plastic draws at varying lengths and arranges them in patterns to create her sculptures. The seemingly simple concept results in a visually captivating and textured landscape. Francesca relates her work with plastic to ideas in the natural world saying, "Observing nature itself, I transfer the essential being of it. The interlacing forms transform the industrial material into soft and sensual shapes."
