San Francisco based artist, designer, illustrator and all around creative dude Patrick Sean GIbson has just launched an App, Brain Snap. Reminiscent of the opening title sequence to Saved By The Bell, Brain Snap is a photo-based app featuring insane characters, florescent hallucinations, and bizarre freak scene illustrations, all created by Gibson.

Tattoo artist Grime does not just work his magic with ink, but also with paint too. Born in Colorado and currently working out of SF, Grime is one talented dude and we are always stoked to see his new work.

'Nick Mann (aka Doodles) is San Francisco based illustrator and street artist who's eye grabbing work can be simply described as modern day folk art (only it's not that simple). His creations are a complicated combination of delicately wheat-pasted pieces of paper, gritty spray paint, and eerie neon nordic creatures...'

Last week, we headed over to Jeremy Fish's San Francisco studio to check out all the new work he was preparing for his exhibition, Where Hearts Get Left, opening Saturday, July 14, at FIFTY24SF Gallery. The show, featuring new paintings, sculptures, drawings, a new book, and a six screenprints, is all built around the concept of "a visual love letter to San Francisco," where Fish noted, "I am begging her to not become a sterile West Coast Manhattan any time soon. What are the constants? What are the things I will always love about SF no matter what happens?”

San Francisco-based Hilary Pecis, who we featured in our May 2011 issue, has a new exhibition, In Accordance, up at Halsey McKay Gallery in East Hampton through July 17. We have championed Pecis' work in the past because we feel it represents a traditional painters embrace of new media and technology, as she researches and culls hundreds of Internet images on a particular concept and creates a canvas based on those findings.

We get a chance to visit with Jeremy Fish every so-often, and generally it is on the occasion of a new exhibition or body of work being built. What we enjoy the most about visiting Fish in his SF North Beach studio is that whatever research or preparation he has compiled while making the work, the remnants are evident throughout his space...

Our good friend and 2x cover artist, Jeremy Fish (who did a nice logo shirt for us this past year), is set to open a new body of work, Where Hearts Get Left, at San Francisco's FIFTY24SF Gallery. Showing at Upper Playground's FIFTY24SF for the first time in 5 years, the exhibition features 60+ new works and is inspired by and created as a visual love letter to the city of San Francisco. Hey, we live in San Francisco!

Tomorrow, in the small Northern California coastal town of Bolinas, Don Ed Hardy will have an exhibition open at the Bolinas Museum, The Art of Don Ed Hardy Including, But Not Limited To. We have attended shows at the Bolinas Museum, including Barry McGee and Clare Rojas, and the curation continues to be excellent in the artistically conscious but secluded town.
