Tilt Warning Customs has teamed up with artists to build an entirely custom classic pinball arcade art installation featuring five mechanically restored vintage 1970s machines reimagined by COOP, Frank Kozik, Alex Pardee, Sam Flores, and Jeremy Fish. Should the Kickstarter funding come through, they will start by opening at FIFTY24SF next year.

Sam Flores loves the number 12. He named his clothing line 12Grain, he really wanted his cover story with Juxtapoz to happen in December, the 12 month, and now he is opening his first solo show in SF in years on the perfect date: 12/12/12. We have a look at some of the paintings that will be in the show, Lion and the Lamb. 

FIFTY24SF Gallery, in association with Upper Playground, is pleased to announce their closing exhibition of 2012, Lion and the Lamb, featuring brand new works from San Francisco-based fine artist, Sam Flores. Lion marks Flores’ first showing in his hometown in nearly a decade, and his first solo show since 2011?s Cairo exhibition at Articulate Baboon.

We are very excited for the highly anticipated Sam Flores solo show, Lion and the Lamb, opening at FIFTY24SF Gallery in San Francisco on 12/12/12. Because Flores' last show opened in Egypt days before a major revolution erupted on the streets of Cairo in 2011, this is the first time many people have seen a solo from the Bay Area artist.

Another year, another great 3-day weekend in Golden Gate Park. Once again, Juxtapoz curated the art for the annual Outside Lands Music and Art Festival in San Francisco, and this year, we really took our time to take in the festival, the people, the artists we worked with, the atmosphere, and the incredible foggy nights. Here is what we saw... 

Day 2 of Juxtapoz at Outside Lands was another great one, with more great performances from Mike Shine, live painting from Skinner, Sam Flores, N8 Van Dyke, Curve, Diet, and, of course, music from Metallica, Sigur Ros, Grandaddy, Big Boi, The Kills, Portugal the Man, and Explosions in the Sky. As you know by now and from our Instagram, Juxtapoz is curating the art and spending the weekend at Outside Lands in San Francisco, and despite the freezing temps (glad we brought our hoodies to sell at the booth), we caught up with Dabs Myla, Mike Shine, Sam Flores, Guy Overfelt, Ricky Watts, and all sorts of Jux fans who stopped by our booth.

With the same anticipation as last year when Juxtapoz curated the art for the annual Outside Lands Music and Art Festival in San Francisco, we are looking forward to the pack of kids who drive up from Arizona to see Metallica headline, wondering why it’s 49 degrees and foggy in August in California. For the 5th annual festival Juxtapoz is back at art curation duties, braving the schizophrenic weather with a wide assortment of live painting, murals, installations, and interactive art from some of our favorite international artists.

We just got back from Day 1 of Outside Lands Music Festival, where we have curated the art portion of this year's event, and have a few pictures from the evening. Skinner, Sam Flores, and N8 Van Dyke were painting all evening, Nick Kuszyk's tunnel pieces were great, Jeremy Fish's banners were huge, and Big Boi's DJ went to the wrong stage.

This year, the now annual Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, have asked Juxtapoz to curate and present the visual art for this year's festival. So we gathered a team of artists, including Mike Shine, Monica Canilao, Nicholas Kuszyk, Tiffany Bozic and others to contribute installations and works for weekend event.
