There may be a few of you out there in the world who are getting on a plane for Austin, Texas this week for everything and anything to do with SXSW. For Juxtapoz, we were lucky enough to partner with Los Angeles-based fine artist, Sage Vaughn, and Converse, to collaborate on a special public art project on East 6th Street in Austin.

One of our favorites here at Jutapoz, Sage Vaughn, is set to open a new show, Life, at the Scion AV Installation space in Los Angeles on Saturday, January 12. The show is described as a "body of work inspired by a word that describes almost anything; it covers so much, it means nothing." Tell that to Kanye. Tell that to Life Magazine. David Choe has teamed up with hip-hop legend and activist, RZA, for a special collaboration to benefit relief efforts for Superstorm Sandy. The collab is part of the charity exhibition, The Gift Show, being held at the Scion AV Installation space in Los Angeles opening this Saturday, December 15. There will be 10 prints, sold during the opening this Saturday. Other artists include Sage Vaughn, Mark Mothersbaugh, Blek le Rat, and others.

Every 8 weeks, Mercedes-Benz will release a mixed tape featuring 10 up-and-coming artists from around the world under the Mixed Tape Music section of mb! Magazine. Last Thursday in the San Francisco Bay Area town of Los Altos Hills, Juxtapoz and actress Marisa Tomei helped co-host a one-night exhibition to help benefit the Palo Alto International Film Festival. Featuring the works of Sage Vaughn, Deedee Cheriel, and Curtis Kulig, the migrating pop-up Gallery for the People organized the event to bring together both cultures of film and art.
