Ryan McGinley is an American photographer living in New York City who began making photographs in 1998. In 2003, at the age of 25, McGinley was one of the youngest artists to have a solo show at the Whitney Museum of American Art....

Another busy year for NYC-based photographer Ryan McGinley, and just fresh off a great exhibition at San Francisco's Ratio 3, he is now in Paris with a new body of work, Body Loud, at Galerie Perrotin. The exhibition is comprised of over twenty brand new, primarily large-format photographs taken over the course of last summer. This is his first show with the gallery.

Well, you got 3 days to check this one out if you are in Northern California. Ryan McGinley has returned to Ratio 3 in San Francisco for one of our favorite installations of the year, Yearbook, featuring an entire site-specific, immersive installation of McGinley's color portraits of... well, a ton of naked men and women who would have done well at the Arcade Fire show in Brooklyn this past weekend. To be honest, all together, in all this color, the installation is quite stunning, and you have until October 26th to see it.

Another 4th of July is upon us and what better way to celebrate than light up some fireworks and... run through them naked. On second thought, best not to try this one at home. We'll leave the antics up to Ryan McGinley and his fearless models. Happy 4th everyone!

Wait, is that an Apple Ad? The 25-by-75-foot billboard located in a parking lot next to the High Line Park in New York has hosted an all-star list of artists including Joel Sternfeld, John Baldessari, David Shrigley, Elad Lassry, Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari of Toilet Paper, and others since its inception in December 2011. Now photographer, Ryan Mcginley, joins this list as the most recent artist to have their work shown on the massive canvas.

What we wrote on August 2, 2012: Nothing gets you feeling serene more than a girl barefoot skipping through Manhattan with sunshine golden hair while Sigur Ros' beautiful music is playing and Ryan McGinley providing the visuals. We think that pretty much covers it. From the looks of it, this is part of Sigur Ros Mystery Film Experiment, and it may be the most epic 8 minutes you spend today.

Famed NYC photographer, Ryan McGinley, is no stranger to music photography. His haunting series following Morrissey as well as his recent Grids series at Team Gallery all capture music culture in unique ways. McGinley recently shot the cover of Bat For Lashes' newest comeback LP, The Haunted Man. A sliver of nudity after the jump . . .

Ryan McGinley opened two simultaneous exhibitions at Team Gallery's two locations in SOHO, NYC this past week, Animals and Grids (Atlas Sound playing the roof for the openings... good touch). We stopped by to see both shows this weekend, and while Grids has a incredibly clean presentation, Animals was one of our favorite, most memorable shows of the entire weekend of Frieze activities.
